Muffato della Sala is a sweet Umbrian white wine produced by Antinori from Sauvignon Blanc (60%), Grechetto, Traminer and Riesling (40%) grapes sourced from Castello della Sala vineyards. Its name derives from the "noble rot" that is created in September and October thanks to fog and rain alternating with sunny days, which sticks to the grapes and reduces the amount of water inside them. The result is a sugary wine with floral and citrus notes that is incredibly harmonious and excellent with dessert or cheese.
